Surface Current makes use of several FM transmitters that broadcast back into public air space the voices and sounds of various places in Rotterdam, primarily in the southern portion of the city. Beginning with Heijplaat, Rotterdam Bradley began recording underwater, field and stories by various people who live, work and transverse through the hidden and all but forgotten shipping community. Several important people, who have supported the project by opening doors and talking, is Kamiel Verschuren, Foundation B.a.d, Nico de Verhalenman, Baltimore <-> Rotterdam Sister City, Jolanda Copier, Stichting NRC, and the many voices and sounds of the places of Heijplaat and Charolios.
